It's been over a month since my last blog post. Yikes! Where did the time go? There are 2 main reasons I haven't been blogging lately. First, I used to blog after my girls went to bed but they started going to bed much later since it is now light so much later. Second, I got a new computer and couldn't remember my blog password. Duh! It's the only password I couldn't remember, my husband picked it so it's not one of my usual ones. Then when I finally got that figured out something about my blog and the new computer don't get along. Blah, blah, blah, here I am and hopefully regularly.
I made a new skirt for Aly the other afternoon. It was one of those I-don't-want-to-work-on-whatever-I-should-be-working-on projects. I've been wanting to find something fun to do with old T-shirts. I don't know why, I actually don't have a ton so I had to buy some for this skirt. I used 3 different shirts. Looking online how to make a 3-tiered skirt I saw that each layer moving up is slightly shorter. Lucky me! The shirt for the bottom was an XL, the middle layer was a L, and the top layer was a M. Each one was already a bit shorter than the previous. So I cut my loops (the bottom was pre-hemmed, I just used the bottom of the shirt), sewed them together, and folded over the top to put in elastic for the waistband. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy as the Geico commercial says.

I'd really like to make one in red, orange, and yellow, or all pinks, or maybe even pastel colors. I loved making this skirt and really love how it came out!
I have another plan for a T-shirt refashion. Something for me this time. But my pile of new Mei Tai fabrics and pillowcases for skirts is fastly growing out of control so it may be awhile before the next refashion.
What have you refashioned?
