Week in review: mud puddles and a climbing baby

Alyssa does not overly love the sprinkler. She does, however, enjoy it being turned on really low and making a mud puddle in my front yard to jump in.

I'm not convinced my grass loves this game quite so much.

But it is fun for me to watch. :)

I decided that a good trip to the fabric store deserved a "prize." I also decided to work with the fact that the line to pay at Joann's is full of $1.00 items at just the right height for a 3 year old. Alyssa picked out fingernail polish.

I found the cutest adirondack chair and table set at the Goodwill. It has since moved outside but they did want to eat breakfast on it one day.

My husband is taking this week off from work to build new decks. The lower one will be enclosed like a sunroom and that will be my sewing room. I cannot wait to have a space to organize! Sadly, I would say there is no way this project will be done in the estimated week. :(

I know I'm not the only one with a baby who climbs things but this is dangerous! (She will climb higher if not stopped but behind the camera I can't really catch her when she falls.)

I'm thinking of changing up my Week in Review posts. I'm afraid it will get boring seeing the same things week after week because the reality is, we just aren't that exciting. I try to enjoy the little things like playing at the park or the zoo or just enjoying the blue sky which is so rare these days. Baking bread. Watching the girls explore. Fun for us, but probably boring for you to see yet another picture of Aly rolling down the hill or looking at animals at the zoo. Also, while I like taking all the pictures and this really forces me to live intentionally, taking pictures is not always convenient. I want to be IN the moment with my girls, not always behind the camera trying to capture the moment for the blog. So for now I am planning on giving the highlights. Some pictures, but probably not a picture for every day.

So here is what we have been doing...

My husband made a cow out of plywood for my mom's birthday. She calls the cow Flat Bob.

I planted my potatoes in garbage cans. One has red potatoes and the other, yellow.

We've gone to the library.

And the big news, my baby turned ONE!

I've been slacking off on my week in review posts and I'm sorry.Â I had to finish those Easter bunnies before Easter andÂ didn't find time to do my blog post.Â :)Â Here is what we have been doing for the last 2 weeks...

Saturday the 27th, we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream

Sunday we went to the zoo (standing on one leg like the flamingos)

Monday we made bread

Tuesday Aly had a friend over

Wednesday Steve was off work so we all went to the park

Thursday Grandma boughtÂ Aly herÂ first saltwater sandals

Friday was my birthday

Saturday we went to an egg hunt at our church

Sunday Happy Easter!Â Kens had her first peep

Monday the girls played

Tuesday was another playdate

Wednesday I took some skirts to X Marsk the Tot to see about selling on consignment

Thursday Aly got dressed all by herself!!Â And let me put ponytails in!Â Both VERY rare and noteworthy.Â

Thursday I bought myself some flowers from a man who grows them and sells them from his front porch.Â $1 a bunch.

Friday we went to the zoo (I've already gotten my money out of my zoo pass and I've only had it for a monthÂ :))

Here is a sampling of what we did this weekÂ 3/20-3/26:

(I've been thinking about whether I consider myself a stay at home mom, or a work at home mom in regards to my Etsy shop.Â Looking at these pictures, from this week and before,Â IÂ know that my girls are my #1Â priority right now, so I guess I am a SAHM.Â I wonder if my shop would be more successful if I considered myself a WAHM?Â I'm notÂ even considering shifting my priorities, just wondering.Â Maybe in a few years when Kens is in preschool...For now, we just try to enjoy life everyday.Â )

Saturday I went to my local guilds quilt show with Kens and my MIL
